Great disaster: Sunday, great weather, many visitors, 2h. Directions. Arrived with a hungry family, the beer garden closed, the kiosk closed, the bratwurst stall closed ... ?Nothing about it on the internet though ... The other beer gardens were of course totally overcrowded ... I've been to the museum very often and I usually have bread, sausage and beer Taken home from the museum. It's a shame that it doesn't exist anymore. I asked the museum employee at the cash register what was going on, she told me that they didn't know anything about it either and that it was the tenant's responsibility.
We went to eat there last weekend. Personal details regarding Corona were not recorded. The pub was pretty empty for a Friday evening. Nevertheless we had to wait over an hour for the food. After the first drink order and the taking of the food, the waitress was no longer visible. When we noticed that we inevitably found that the staff was pretty overwhelmed - as I said, the economy was as good as empty. To eat... We were a group of six and a toddler. For the vegetarians there was one dish - salad. Nothing for hunger in the evening. The thought that vegetarian cuisine consists only of salad is unfortunately quite persistent and is really no longer up to date. The vegan alternative (after all), a vegetable strudel, was more than disappointing. Dry, little, the salad was not dressed as a side dish. Vinegar and oil were served at the table. All in all, more like a finished product from the refrigerated counter. The meat eaters weren't really happier either. Side dish hot, the rest rather lukewarm. The children's portion for the toddler was served last. All in all, a real letdown. Price-"performance" in no relation. The level has dropped significantly, we heard that the operator has allegedly changed. Would explain a lot. Our group is of the opinion that another visit is not worthwhile.
We were very disappointed. On the carelessly arranged salad was simply an indefinable, ready-made, orange-colored sauce. Matjes with bread (was a baked roll) were inedible. I've never seen so much mayonnaise before. Typical, regional food is expected in an open-air museum.
So first of all it is an imposition at the entrance to this snack bar! The bratwurst tastes warmed up and the non-German speaking staff has no clue about disinfecting tables! If I don't have any staff, I'll let it go. The dishes from the previous person were still where we went. This operation would have to be checked.
The service staff is nice and friendly ... as long as you are understood! Unfortunately only speak broken German! Just wanted to eat 1 pair of sausages in a bun ... Basically no problem! Unfortunately the sausages were kept warm electrically and were barely lukewarm ... After all, they tasted good! But what shocked me most was the price !!! 6.90 ā¬ for 1 pair of sausages in a roll! Will definitely be the last time for me at the prices!
Delicious food and friendly service. What more do you want
Seasonal dishes that taste delicious and are nicely arranged. When the weather is good, dining in the great outdoors is a highlight.
good food, delicious food, delicious cakes, friendly staff. Very nice
The sausages are recommended. Especially with horseradish sauce and mashed potatoes are excellent. I have not seen so on any map.
Super nice staff have everything under control and delicious food. Were 8th and all tasted it. And thanks again for the helpfulness -Auto-
Hot chocolate was great. Abbeeerrrr the conditions did not deserve even 1 star. Simply without words. Yes it was Sunday and full but completely missed the job!
Beautiful and beautifully renovated inn at the entrance to the museum area. The kitchen is ok, but the staff is lazy underground and cheeky. Food and staff were better. Unfortunately, it has degenerated into mass processing.
Average food, service okay ... not more. Previous tenant better.
Ovenfest in the Freilandmuseum, come back next year. Highly Recommended.
I know little to no German, the waitress's we're really helpful. The menu is short and sweet but EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING tastes amazing. I don't understand why I have to travel across the world to have such amazing food but I'm glad I found this spot. There's outdoor long tables in the back, about 10 of them with bench's. There's a walk up bar that you can get beers at, really inexpensively. They do not have an English menu. When you walk up, if you're American, locals might stare at you, but I promise it's worth the social uncomfortableness. If you're thinking of trying a restaurant in downtown, try this one first!!!
Food did not taste to me had any flavor. But there were large portions. Waiters nice but totally confused even though there were hardly any guests.
The visit was worth it. In sunny weather a nice tour in the museum. Well maintained grounds and beer garden. Can recommend a trip for the whole family.
Food was so good definetly reccomend staff was friendly spoke english and made great recommendations for us to eat. Place was clean and relaxing
Great atmosphere. Nice, easy service. High prices, but very good quality. Zwiebelrostbraten was always excellent
Service is unfortunately not very fast and forgets part of the order. After long wait again, although only cake. It was good, but very expensive!
Very nice area food specialties and good atmosphere. Well worth going.
You can get very good Franconian cuisine here and sit very nicely in the shady beer garden. The only thing you don't have to pay to enter the open air museum is to eat.
The inn is actually more of an inn. I feel at home here as a guest. We have now repeatedly been guests to family celebrations between 20 and 30 people. The hospitality is attentive and the cuisine is Franconian. The 6th star is then the location at the museum. It costs extra - of course - but after and during the party there is a run for all age groups.
Absolutely phenomenal food and atmosphere. Will definitely go out of my way to visit again if Iām within 100km in my travels. The scheufele is great for any carnivore.
you might want to try the baked carp and the home made museum beer - it's both delicious!
Amazing traditional food with excellent service. Highly recommended.
